Restoration Corner

Our skilled luthiers and repair techs have over 75 years combined expertise, along with skills from high-end violin restoration. You can be assured your instrument will receive top-tier care, from simple adjustments to complex restorations.

This is a Gibson B-25 restoration.

Restoration work: Replacing the stock bolted on plastic bridge with a new custom-made rosewood bridge.

Process:

- Removed the plastic bridge.

- Taped off with blue painters tape around the bridge area. This does not damage existing varnish while allowing for safely removing varnish under bridge area to ensure a good glue surface.

- Plugged bolt holes (that were used to hold the plastic bridge in-place) with spruce.  - Glued on a custom made rosewood bridge.

This ultimately improved sound quality substantially because of the wood to wood surface area contact between the bridge and top, which also increased the value and improved the visual look of the guitar.

Repair Consultations: You can drop off your instrument at the shop during open hours and our repairman will contact you with a repair estimate. You're also welcome to book an appointment to meet our repairman.

April's Featured Instrument

This month’s featured instrument is the KRUTZ 5 String Open Back Banjo!

Designed specifically for the old-time enthusiast, the KRUTZ 5 String Open Back Banjo is a dedicated "picking machine" that prioritizes traditional tone and a minimalist aesthetic.

This model features the signature clean styling of the classic clawhammer banjos, built around a steam-bent maple rim and a 24-bracket tension hoop.

To cater to the needs of clawhammer and old-time stylists, it comes standard with:

  • Scooped fretboard for easier over-the-neck playing.

  • No-knot tailpiece to maintain classic tension.

  • Remo FiberSkyn head for that sought-after vintage warmth.

Please note that the case is sold separately.

Check the video above to hear more about it!
