KC Frets Repairs Price List - 2026
Most instruments require some level of set up work. This is why most repairs begin with a $75 minimum set up fee, which covers nut and saddle adjustments, neck relief adjustments, fret polish and cleaning/oiling fingerboards. Smaller needs are priced on a case-by-case basis.
  • Restring and Setup -  $95 
    • + $25 for Floyd Rose or specialty tremolos
      Includes: Truss rod adjustment, action at saddle, nut slot evaluation & adjustment, intonation, tuning
      machine service, set pickup heights, electronics cleaned & tested, full playability inspection, buffing of frets and conditioning fretboard, light fret end smoothing (pronounced fret sprout requiring reshaping
      +$40), cleaning of instrument and lubrication of mechanical parts if needed.
    • Includes all adjustments necessary for optimal playability, excluding extensive fretwork, replacement
      parts, or structural repairs. Minor fretwork such as seating or gluing a small number of loose frets and
      spot leveling is included when appropriate. If more extensive fretwork is required, this will be evaluated
      during intake. Minor fret seating does not substitute for full fret leveling. Strings not included.​
  • Taylor Neck Reset - $145 
    • Taylor guitars often need the neck removed and the shims inside the head block and fingerboard extension modified or replaced to achieve proper neck projection.​
  • Handmade Bone Nut - $205–$245 - (Includes Set Up)
    • Pricing varies by instrument, including Fender-style electrics, vintage acoustics, Les Pauls, 12-string, mandolin, etc.
    • Pricing reflects instrument construction, finish sensitivity, and labor required.
    • Individually hand-cut, fitted, shaped & slotted
    • String spacing can be modified if desired
    • A full set up is required to ensureproper function and playability
    •  Material cost included, unbleached bone if not specified​
  • Compensated Bone Saddle - $195 - (Includes Set Up)

    • Precision compensation set to proper radius

    •  Desired action height set

    • Material cost included, unbleached bone if not specified, specialty bridges quoted individually, ex.Martin “through style”

  • Nut & Saddle Combo + Full Setup Package - starting at $300
    • Includes handmade bone nut, compensated saddle, and full setup.
    • Pricing may vary based on instrument construction, finish sensitivity, and labor required.
  • Crack Repair
    • We handle all types of crack repair, including tops, backs, sides, sound holes, and traditional Martin-style pickguard cracks. Cracks are repaired using hot hide glue or fish glue.
    • In-person evaluation is required, as cracks may be caused by additional structural issues such as loose
      braces, failing bridge plates, or lifting bridges.
    •  Typical acoustic top crack behind bridge $150-$200
    • Includes proper realignment + cleating and stabilization + minor touch up
    • Full finish touch-up quoted separately
    • Cracks often require proper humidification to allow the joint to close sufficiently before repairing. This process may take a week or more prior to the work being performed and cannot be rushed.
    • Finish touch-up, when required, will extend turnaround time.
    • Invisible repairs cannot be guaranteed.​
  • Headstock Repair - Quote Required
    • Level 1- Structural repair + minor touch up $200+
    • Level 2 - Full Finish touch-up, color blending and matching added structural reinforcement if necessary$600+​
  • Brace Repair/Reglue
    • Removal of old adhesive from beneath the brace and secured using the appropriate traditional glue.
    • Single loose brace: $85–$125 - pricing depends on flattops vs archtops
    • Multiple braces: $150–$300
    • Loose or structural braces requiring back removal or replacement brace fabrication, by quote​
  • Bridge Plate Repair / Replacement - $150-$300
    • Includes assessment of plate wear, size, and material and if repair or replacement is necessary
    • Vintage-correct fabrication​
  • Bridge Remove & Reglue - $250
    • Full Set up not included
    • New bridge fabrication available, Vintage instruments, warped bridges or tops, fractured laminations,finish complications: $400 and up​
  • Broken or Seized Truss Rods Repair/Replacement - Quote Required
  • Fret Level, Crown & Polish - $225
    • All fretwork is performed under conditions that replicate string tension for accurate results.
    • Includes full setup​
  • Refret - $500-$600
    • Pricing varies with Bound necks, lacquered fingerboards, stainless frets, or badly warped necks/fingerboards At intake we will discuss appropriate fret wire size to achieve desired result or retain
      vintage authenticity. New nut and or saddle typically needed for optimal playability but can save vintage nut if desired.
      Includes:
      • Fret removal
      • Fingerboard preparation
      • New fret installation
      • Level, crown & polish
      • Full Set Up​
  • Neck Resets - $700-$900, quote required
    • Pricing may vary by manufacturer due to differences in neck joint construction and finish requirements.
    • We have extensive experience with neck resets and require the instrument in-hand to determine the scope of work needed to achieve the desired results. A fret level is the minimum requirement to achieve desired playability after resetting neck projection. In most cases, a refret is highly recommended in conjunction with a neck reset, though it is not always necessary.​
  • Electronics Diagnostics & Repair - $90/hr.
    • Signal tracing and troubleshooting 
    • Repair or replacement recommendations
  • Acoustic Pickup Installation - $120
    • Under-saddle, soundboard, or internal mic systems
    • Clean wiring and secure installation, complex systems may incur additional cost.​​
  • Electric Pickup Installation - $120
    • Custom cavity routing available, but not included and is quoted separately when required.​
  • Archtops & semi-hollow instruments Pickup Installation - $170
    • Custom cavity routing available, but not included and is quoted separately when required.
  • Output Jack Replacement - $30 + parts
  • Potentiometer & Switch Replacement - $30 per part + parts cost​
  • Binding Repair - $90-$150 & up, quote needed
    • Custom cavity routing available, but not included and is quoted separately when required.
  • Dings & Finish Repair - $90 and up
    • $90 for spot touch ups and drop fills, per defect
    • Quotes are required for larger finish repairs, including missing material, color matching, and full
      refinishing.
    • Finish work timelines are dictated by material curing time and cannot be rushed without compromising results. Turnaround times vary accordingly.
    • Finish touch-ups are intended to improve appearance and structural integrity, but an invisible repair cannot be guaranteed.
  • Handmade Pickguards - $90 and up
    • Available in a wide range of styles, including traditional Martin-style, large Gibson-style, bound archtop designs, fender designs and fully custom guards (quote required).
    • Pickguards are individually hand-cut and hand-beveled
    • Material cost not included.
  • Tuner Replacement - $40
    • Additional charge if reaming or other modification is required
  • Strap Button / Strap Pin Install - $15 + parts​
