KC Frets Repairs Price List - 2026
Most instruments require some level of set up work. This is why most repairs begin with a $75 minimum set up fee, which covers nut and saddle adjustments, neck relief adjustments, fret polish and cleaning/oiling fingerboards. Smaller needs are priced on a case-by-case basis.

Restring and Setup - $95

Includes: Truss rod adjustment, action at saddle, nut slot evaluation & adjustment, intonation, tuning
machine service, set pickup heights, electronics cleaned & tested, full playability inspection, buffing of frets and conditioning fretboard, light fret end smoothing (pronounced fret sprout requiring reshaping
+$40), cleaning of instrument and lubrication of mechanical parts if needed. -
Includes all adjustments necessary for optimal playability, excluding extensive fretwork, replacement
parts, or structural repairs. Minor fretwork such as seating or gluing a small number of loose frets and
spot leveling is included when appropriate. If more extensive fretwork is required, this will be evaluated
during intake. Minor fret seating does not substitute for full fret leveling. Strings not included.

Taylor Neck Reset - $145

Taylor guitars often need the neck removed and the shims inside the head block and fingerboard extension modified or replaced to achieve proper neck projection.

Crack Repair
-
We handle all types of crack repair, including tops, backs, sides, sound holes, and traditional Martin-style pickguard cracks. Cracks are repaired using hot hide glue or fish glue.

In-person evaluation is required, as cracks may be caused by additional structural issues such as loose
braces, failing bridge plates, or lifting bridges. -

Cracks often require proper humidification to allow the joint to close sufficiently before repairing. This process may take a week or more prior to the work being performed and cannot be rushed.

Neck Resets - $700-$900, quote required

Pricing may vary by manufacturer due to differences in neck joint construction and finish requirements.

We have extensive experience with neck resets and require the instrument in-hand to determine the scope of work needed to achieve the desired results. A fret level is the minimum requirement to achieve desired playability after resetting neck projection. In most cases, a refret is highly recommended in conjunction with a neck reset, though it is not always necessary.
